Police are investigating a traffic accident in Wan Chai on Sunday evening in which two taxi passengers died. The incident happened just before 9.30 pm when their taxi collided with a bus at the junction of Fleming Road and Harbour Road.
The passengers, a 47-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man, were trapped in the vehicle along with the taxi driver, before being freed by passers-by.
The passengers were both unconscious when sent to hospital, where they were later declared dead.
The taxi driver, a 33-year-old woman, remains in hospital. Police have arrested her on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death.
