Financial Secretary Paul Chan has held bilateral meetings with political and business leaders attending the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, to promote Hong Kong's business opportunities.
Among the leaders Chan met was Saudi Arabia’s finance minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan, with the two sides discussing deepening financial and business cooperation.
Chan also exchanged views with the Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, on global economic developments.
The finance chief also met representatives of two companies specialising in fintech and artificial intelligence.
Chan said Hong Kong is pressing ahead with developing digital assets in a “prudent and orderly” manner, and he welcomes fiat-based stablecoin firms to establish themselves in the city.
Chan arrived in Switzerland on Monday, accompanied by Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau, and is expected to speak at two sessions during the five-day forum.
