The Foreign Ministry in Beijing announced on Friday that Foreign Minister Wang Yi would hold talks with the US National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan, in Bangkok.
"As agreed by China and the United States, Wang Yi will hold a new round of meetings with National Security Adviser Sullivan of the United States in Bangkok," the ministry said in a statement, adding Wang would be in Thailand until Monday.
The White House said the talks would take place on Friday and Saturday.
"This meeting continues the commitment by both sides at the November 2023 Woodside Summit between President Biden and President Xi to maintain strategic communication and responsibly manage the relationship," US National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said in a statement, referring to talks between the two leaders in San Francisco.
