Hong Kong's first diagonal pedestrian crossing is expected to be launched in Sha Tin next Wednesday.
The installation of diagonal crossing facilities has been completed at the intersection of Sha Kok Street and Yat Tai Street, and they are expected to be in use from January 31.
Another "pedestrian scramble" in Tsim Sha Tsui, at the intersection of Granville Road and Carnarvon Road, is expected to be launched in mid-2024.
Transport minister Lam Sai-hung said after a few months of implementation, the authorities will assess the effectiveness of the diagonal crossings and whether the designs have to be improved.
