Hong Kong stocks tumbled at the open on Monday after Federal Reserve chief Jerome Powell warned that interest rates were unlikely to be cut in March and data showed a forecast-busting jump in US jobs creation.
The Hang Seng Index sank 1.3 percent to 15,336.
The Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.5 percent to 2,716, and the Shenzhen Composite Index shed 0.9 percent to 1,478. (AFP)
