Shares in Hong Kong and the mainland soared on Tuesday as Beijing ramped up efforts to bolster the country's battered markets.
The Hang Seng Index ended up 4 percent, or 626 points, at 16,136.
The Shanghai Composite Index climbed 3.2 percent, or 87 points, to 2,789, and the Shenzhen Composite Index rocketed 5.1 percent, or 73 points to 1,506. (AFP)
