Special travel arrangements are being introduced on Friday for Lunar New Year's Eve.
The Shenzhen Bay border will stay open around the clock – as the crossing at Lok Ma Chau does – while the Lo Wu checkpoint will remain open for an extra two hours until 2am.
Because the Lo Wu crossing is staying open longer, services on the MTR's East Rail Line will be extended. The last southbound train from Lo Wu is scheduled to depart at 2.30am, while the last northbound train is due to leave Admiralty at 12.56am.
Most other MTR trains will run around the clock, except for the Airport Express and the line to Disneyland.
Dozens of bus services have extended hours, with several continuing throughout the night.
Some minibuses will also extend service hours, along with Hong Kong Island's trams.
