A paddle boarder has reportedly drifted from Shenzhen waters to Sai Kung after spending the night at sea.

Police said they received a call from the 59-year-old man, surnamed Cheung, just before noon on Sunday, saying he had come ashore at Ko Lau Wan.

The officer said Cheung, who is a Hong Kong resident, went paddle boarding in Shenzhen's Yantian late in the afternoon on Saturday, but fell into the sea after becoming exhausted.

Police added that Cheung sustained face and knee injuries, and was sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment.
