HK market opens higher, shrugging off US falls

Hong Kong stocks opened higher on Wednesday after US markets were mixed following lacklustre consumer confidence data.

The Hang Seng Index rose 0.3 percent to 16,833.

The Shanghai Composite Index added 0.1 percent to 3,018, and the Shenzhen Composite Index gained 0.6 percent to 1,726. (AFP)
