HK market opens lower after US overnight fall

Hong Kong stocks fell in opening trade on Thursday, tracking US losses ahead of the release of key inflation figures later in the day.

The Hang Seng Index opened down 0.7 percent to 16,429.

The Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.4 percent at 2,946 and the Shenzhen Composite Index dipped 0.3 percent to 1,646. (AFP)
