Chief Executive John Lee will depart for Beijing on Monday to attend the opening meeting of the second annual session of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC).
The NPC meeting will open in the capital on March 5, while the annual meeting of the top advisory body, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), will open on March 4.
Lee will witness the signing of co-operation documents on strengthening the training of healthcare talent and the commencement of projects on prevention and response against local communicable diseases.
Health Secretary Lo Chung-mau and the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui will also visit the capital.
The Executive Council will not convene any meetings in the coming two weeks, as members who are the deputies to the NPC and members of the CPPCC will also attend the meetings in Beijing.
Lee will return to the SAR on Wednesday.
