Police have arrested a man and a woman over the death of a motorcyclist on Wednesday night.

The biker, 56 was riding along Lin Cheung Road just after 10pm when he was involved in a collision with a taxi near the junction with Lai Po Road, officers said.

It's believed a private car then went over the motorcyclist.

The injured man was taken to hospital with multiple injuries and was declared dead around half an hour later.

A 67-year-old man suspected of driving the taxi involved in the collision was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death, failing to stop after an accident, and failing to call the police.

A 65-year-old woman suspected of driving the private car allegedly involved in the incident was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death and failing to stop after an accident.
