Police on Sunday said they had charged a man and a woman with preventing the lawful burial of a body after the remains of two baby boys were found in jars in a rented flat in Tuen Mun last week.
Officers said the couple, aged 22 and 24, are believed to be the parents of the babies, who were between 24 and 30 weeks old when they died.
The couple are due to appear at Fanling Magistracy on Monday.
At a press briefing, officers said they couldn't find hospital birth records for the two boys, adding that DNA samples had been taken to try to ascertain the babies' parentage.
Police said they were still working to determine what caused the babies' deaths.
