Hong Kong received four million visitors last month, almost double compared with the same period a year ago, according figures released by the Tourism Board on Friday.
The Tourism Board attributed the surge in visitor numbers to the Lunar New Year holidays and various large-scale events held during the festive period.
It added that mainland tourists accounted for 80 percent of the total number of tourists in February.
More than three million visitors from the mainland crossed the border, nearly double the figure from the same period last year.
The Tourism Board also said a total of 7.83 million travellers visited the SAR in the first two months of this year, marking a three-fold increase compared with the same period in 2023.
