A grocery retail chain that opened in 1985 announced on Friday that it was closing its 28 stores in Hong Kong.
The parent company, Dah Chong Hong, said the decision to close all DCH Foods retail stores was made after careful consideration.
At one of the shuttered stores in Sham Shui Po, a notice said its lease ended on Thursday.
The company said it would continue to serve the local market through sourcing, distribution and processing foodstuffs.
A recorded message on the chain's hotline said a membership scheme and its mobile app would cease operations on April 1, and all points collected and discounts accrued would no longer be available to customers.
The message also said e-discount coupons stored on the app would automatically become invalid on April 1, as DCH urged customers to use them before they expired.
