Police on Sunday said they were investigating the case of a human torso found floating in waters off Hung Hom.

Officers received a report at 10am of a sighting of a human-like object adrift near Kerry Hotel.

Upon arrival, police retrieved the remains, which consisted only of the waist and thighs, for further examination.

Police said the gender was male but the age had not yet been determined.
