A high-voltage cable hit a minibus on Castle Peak Road on Tuesday afternoon, after it became detached from a pylon.

At about 12:30pm, a cable, five centimetres in diameter and 300-metres in length, fell across a flyover on Castle Peak Road near Au Tau in Yuen Long, knocking over two lampposts while also hitting the bus.

The accident left parts of the road temporarily closed.

Power company CLP said its staff had been working on repairs at the time.

CLP said electricity for 68 customers nearby was affected, but power was completely restored at about 2pm.
