Hong Kong shares finished slightly higher on Wednesday, tracking a record close on Wall Street as investors await the end of a key Federal Reserve policy meeting later in the day.

The Hang Seng Index ended up 0.08 percent, or 13 points, at 16,543.

Investors were anxiously looking ahead to the expected guidance by the US Fed on the timing of its cuts to interest rates. (AFP)
