The Labour Department is investigating a fatal industrial accident in Kwai Chung on Thursday afternoon in which a worker died.

The victim, said to be about 30 years old, fell from height at a redevelopment site at Kwai Chung Hospital.

He was confirmed dead at the scene.

The Labour Department said it immediately deployed staff to the scene and looked into the cause of the incident.

The director of architectural services, Michael Li, expressed deep sadness over the worker's death.

The Architectural Services Department said related works have been suspended and has requested the contractor to provide assistance to the deceased's family.
