Police say an 84-year-old man has died, and his 71-year-old wife is in a coma, in a suspected case of murder and attempted suicide.

Officers found the body of the man at a home on Beacon Hill Road in Kowloon Tong on Wednesday morning, after receiving a report from a helper.

Police said the wife suffered injuries to her neck and she is now being treated in Princess Margaret Hospital.

Police said a cutter was found at the scene.
