Passengers on the MTR's Kwun Tong line on Saturday afternoon faced an additional journey time of between 15 and 20 minutes as an equipment failure struck a train near Tiu Keng Leng station.
The incident happened on a train bound for Whampoa. The train was moved away and services began to return to normal after 2pm. Services on the Tseung Kwan O line were operating as normal.
It's the second major disruption on the line in as many days. A signalling fault at Yau Ma Tei Station led to longer journeys on Friday morning.
On Thursday, a mechanical defect near Tsim Sha Tsui Station led to delays on the Tsuen Wan Line.
