HK market dips at open on interest rate jitters

Hong Kong stocks opened slightly lower on Monday after strong US jobs data dealt another blow to hopes that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates in June.

The Hang Seng Index dipped 0.4 percent to 16,650.

The Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.4 percent to 3,057, while the Shenzhen Composite Index lost 0.3 percent to 1,761. (AFP)
