Police are investigating after eight kilogrammes of what is believed to be cocaine was found on Lido Beach in Ting Kau.

Officials received a report at around 10am on Tuesday of the discovery of a plastic barrel containing eight packages of white powder.

The suspected cocaine is believed to have a market value of around HK$8 million.

Officers have classified the case as a discovery of "suspicious objects".
