A drone show for the nation's “Xuelong 2”, or “Snow Dragon 2”, icebreaker was called off, the organising committee announced on Wednesday.

The committee made the decision after Wednesday's fire in Jordan, which left at least five people dead and dozens more injured.

Lawmaker Ma Fung-kwok, who chairs the committee, said the blaze had resulted in a huge loss, adding it is not suitable to hold the show on such a "tragic day."

The drone show was supposed to have taken place at 8pm on Wednesday.

The icebreaker docked in Tsim Sha Tsui for a five-day visit to the SAR.
