Hong Kong stocks fell at the opening on Thursday, tracking a sell-off on Wall Street and across Asia after hotter-than-expected US inflation data dented hopes the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates this year.
The Hang Seng Index dived 1.65 percent, or 282.98 points, to 16,856.19.
The Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.45 percent, or 13.76 points, to 3,013.57, while the Shenzhen Composite Index shed 0.73 percent, or 12.53 points, to 1,707.74. (AFP)
