Hong Kong International Airport has been named the world’s busiest cargo airport for 2023 in terms of total volume.
According to the latest data released by Airports Council International, Chek Lap Kok handled 4.3 million tonnes of cargo last year.
It's the 13th time since 2010 that the airport has been named the busiest cargo airport in the world.
"Air cargo is a key driver of the growth of Hong Kong’s logistics industry and overall economic development," Airport Authority chairman Jack So said, adding that the authority will work with the air cargo community to further strengthen the airport's competitiveness.
