The Tourism Board said on Tuesday that there were some 3.4 million tourist arrivals last month, up 40 percent from the previous year.
More than 70 percent of the visits in March were made by mainland travellers.
Five years ago, before the pandemic, there were some 5.8 million visitor arrivals in March.
The board said that for the first quarter of this year, there were more than 11.2 million arrivals, 1.5 times more than the same period a year ago.
It said this showed the continued and gradual growth of arrivals.
