Hong Kong stocks advanced at the open on Tuesday, extending the previous day's rally, following a healthy lead from Wall Street, with US economic data in view this week.

The Hang Seng Index rose 1.02 percent to 16,679.

The Shanghai Composite Index dipped 0.20 percent to 3,039, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on the mainland's second exchange eased 0.10 percent to 1,677. (AFP)
