HK stocks open higher, lifted by US market gains

Hong Kong stocks extended gains into a third straight day on Wednesday following another strong advance on Wall Street as traders welcomed healthy earnings from US tech giants.

The Hang Seng Index climbed almost one percent to 16,993.

The Shanghai Composite Index added 0.3 percent to 3,029, and the Shenzhen Composite Index was flat, inching up 0.01 points to 1,675. (AFP)
