The third plenum of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China will be held in Beijing in July.
That's in accordance with a decision made at a Politburo meeting on Tuesday.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the upcoming plenary session "will primarily study issues concerning further comprehensively deepening reform and advancing Chinese modernisation".
President Xi Jinping, who's also party general secretary, presided over the Politburo meeting, which also analysed the current economic situation and economic work, and discussed continuous efforts to advance the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
According to the meeting, "China's reform must continue in the face of complex international and domestic situations, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial changes, and the new anticipation of the people," Xinhua reported.
The meeting said despite an economic rebound, challenges remained such as inadequate demand, operating pressure on enterprises and the risks facing key areas.
It also stressed the need to respond to people's aspirations for quality homes and tackle a housing stockpile.
Beijing has set a 2024 growth target of around 5 percent for the world's second-largest economy. (Agencies)
