Police on Saturday arrested a 32-year-old man in Yuen Long on suspicion of murdering his 50-year-old father.

Officers were called to a flat on Ping Fai Path shortly after 1am on reports that a man had collapsed. The victim was rushed to unconscious to Pok Oi Hospital with head injuries and was declared dead at about 2.30am.

Officers said initial investigations indicated that the victim had a dispute with his son, during which he was attacked. Police arrested a suspect at the scene. He was detained for inquiries.

Both the father and son are said to be non-ethnic Chinese. A post-mortem is to take place to determine the cause of death. The Yuen Long district crime squad is investigating.
