China on Sunday launched an anti-dumping investigation into polyformaldehyde copolymer from the European Union, the United States, Taiwan region and Japan.

The Ministry of Commerce said the investigation should be completed in a year but could be extended for six months.

The engineering chemical can partially replace metals such as copper and zinc, and have various applications, including in auto parts, electronics and medical equipment. (Xinhua & Reuters)
