President Xi Jinping has called for efforts to promote high-quality and sufficient employment, and to further boost employment through development.
Xi made the remarks on Monday while presiding over a Politburo group study session, Xinhua news agency reported.
"[We should] insist that employment of young people including college graduates is a top priority," Xi told the session. China is expected to see over 11.7 million college graduates this year.
The president also said measures should be taken to promote the employment of migrant workers, stabilise the number and income of people who were lifted out of poverty, and provide more help to groups that find it difficult to secure employment.
He also called for efforts to deepen the reform of employment systems and mechanisms, and protect the rights and interests of workers.
