Hong Kong shares fell at the beginning of business Wednesday on concerns the US Federal Reserve could hold back from cutting interest rates this year.

The Hang Seng Index sank 0.86 percent, or 161.75 points, to 18,659. Shares on China's two main bourses in Shanghai and Shenzhen also fell at the opening of trade. (AFP)
