China says it will halt tariff concessions from June 15 for some Taiwan products that currently enjoy preferential tariff rates stipulated in the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), in response to the island's trade restrictions.

The announcement was made on Friday by the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council.

The special rates will be removed from 134 goods, including machine tools and industrial chemicals.

China in December suspended tariff concessions for some products under the ECFA, but the Finance Ministry said the island has not reciprocated.

"The Taiwan region has unilaterally adopted discriminatory measures such as prohibiting and restricting the export of mainland products, which violates the provisions of the (agreement)," the ministry said. (Xinhua & agencies)
