Hong Kong stocks opened lower on Tuesday, in line with losses across Asia, following US data pointing to further weakness in the world's number one economy.

The Hang Seng Index sank 0.4 percent to 18,335.

The Shanghai Composite Index shed 0.2 percent to 3,071, while the Shenzhen Composite Index eased 0.3 percent to 1,713. (AFP)
