Hong Kong stocks edged higher on Tuesday as global investors awaited India's official election results.

After opening in negative territory, the Hang Seng Index gained 41 points or 0.22 percent to finish the day at 18,444.

Turnover was HK$116.2 billion.

The Hang Seng China Enterprises index rose 0.34 percent to 6,554. (Agencies)
