Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 152.62 points, or 0.83 percent, to open at 18,577.58 on Thursday.

On the mainland, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.13 percent to open at 3,069.44 points, while the Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.26 percent higher at 9,417.93 points. (Xinhua)
