Hong Kong stocks opened lower on Wednesday.

Traders said investors are focused on the upcoming release of US inflation data and the Federal Reserve's policy announcement overnight on Wednesday.

The Hang Seng Index fell 0.8 percent to 18,032 in the opening minutes. (Xinhua, Reuters)
