Hong Kong shares fell on Wednesday, with the Hang Seng Index closing down 238 points, or 1.3 percent, at 17,937.

The Shanghai Composite Index finished 0.3 percent higher at 3,037. The smaller Shenzhen index ended up 0.6 percent. (Reuters)
