An elderly man died on Saturday after a shuttle bus he was travelling on suddenly braked near one of Hong Kong's largest private housing estates.

Police said the incident happened close to the junction of Tin Lung Road and Tin Kwai Road in Tin Shui Wai at around 10.30am, when the bus for Kingswood Villas stopped abruptly.

The 92-year-old passenger was found unconscious in his seat, and later pronounced dead at Tin Shui Wai Hospital.

Officers arrested the 64-year-old bus driver on suspicion of dangerous driving.
