The Airport Authority said on Monday morning there could be disruptions to flights in and out of Hong Kong for a few hours due to the closure of the north runway.

The closure followed an emergency landing by a cargo plane at around 7:30am, during which the jet experienced a flat tyre.

The authority said only one runway remained in operation for the time being, and flights schedules may be affected.

It called on passengers to watch out for the latest flight information.
