Wildlife officials have captured two wild boars that were spotted wandering around Sham Shui Po on Wednesday morning.

Officers from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) used dart guns during the capture operation near Sheung Li Uk Garden.

Police said they received a report at around 10.10am when the pigs were seen at the junction of Tai Po Road and Nam Cheong Street, near a petrol station.

The boars were said to have later moved to the garden, located along Tai Po Road.

Online footage showed police officers at the scene using shields for protection.

“Considering that the presence of the two wild boars in urban areas would pose a danger to the public, our staff captured and euthanised them,” an AFCD spokesperson said.
