Authorities on Monday said a 55-year-old man died after being hit on the head by a falling water pipe at the New Yau Ma Tei Public Cargo Working Area in Tai Kok Tsui.

Police added they received the report at around 2pm.

Officers said the man was unconscious when he was rushed to Kwong Wah Hospital.

He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Labour Department said it immediately deployed staff to the scene and was looking into the cause of the accident.
