Mainland customs officers have caught a man at a border crossing point between Hong Kong and Shenzhen with over 100 live snakes stuffed in his trousers.
The news of the reptilian round-up was announced by China Customs on its official WeChat account on Tuesday.
Officers at the Futian boundary control point recently stopped the man, who was passing through the checkpoint without making any declarations, for an inspection.
They found 104 live snakes in six sealed drawstring bags that were in the man's pockets.
There were five types of reptiles, including milk snakes and corn snakes, with most of them being introduced species.
