Hong Kong shares fell on Monday, following weaker-than-expected data and on higher chances of Donald Trump winning the US presidential election after the weekend's assassination attempt.

The Hang Seng Index closed down 1.5 percent at 18,015.

The Shanghai Composite Index finished 0.1 percent higher at 2,974. (Reuters)
