The Correctional Services Department (CSD) on Sunday said a 60-year-old man, who was remanded in custody at Pak Sha Wan Correctional Institution, had died at a public hospital.
The 60-year-old was accused of indecent conduct towards a child under the age of 16.
The department said he was suffering from liver cirrhosis, a condition caused by long-term liver damage resulting in scarring.
He was sent to hospital 10 days ago and was pronounced dead at 9 am on Sunday.
The CSD has informed the police and a death inquest will be conducted by the Coroner's Court.
