A group of students and teachers from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) are on a two-week trip to Rwanda to serve the local community.
PolyU's Council Chairman Lam Tai-fai, President Jin-guang Teng and Vice President Ben Young also joined the trip.
Students from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Department of Computing ventured into rural Rwandan villages to install over 400 solar power systems, bringing electricity to underprivileged households in need.
Meanwhile, students from the School of Fashion and Textiles brought their expertise to local communities, teaching specialist skills in the textile arts. Their aim is to train villagers to transform fabric into sustainable clothing.
