China's Deng Yawen secured the Olympic gold medal in the women's BMX Freestyle on Wednesday, with a score of 92.60 points.
The 18-year-old Chinese rider produced the two highest scores of the competition, finishing ahead of Perris Benegas of the United States, who scored 90.70 points in an impressive second run.
Australia's Natalia Diehm took the bronze medal with 88.80 points.
Tokyo 2021 gold medallist Charlotte Worthington of Britain and bronze medal winner Nikita Ducarroz of Switzerland were not among the nine riders who went through to Wednesday's finals, blowing the race wide open.
