Hong Kong, China rower Chiu Hin-chun on Friday fought hard for the best rank he could get in the men’s single sculls, despite dropping out of contention for a medal.
Chiu finished second out of six in his group D race to rank 20th overall. He previously competed in the Rio Olympic Games, where he finished 19th in the lightweight double sculls.
Sailor Halliday still in middle of pack
Hong Kong sailor Nicholas Halliday maintained a steady position in the pack after two more races in the men's dinghy event, with six still to come over the next three days.
The 25-year-old is the first SAR Olympian to qualify for the ILCA 7 single-handed event. He ranked 28th out of 43 sailors.
